WEEK 24 - THE LONG LOST UPDATE....

Hi everyone!

It's been a long time between drinks! How has everyone been?
Me? Bloody busy! That's for sure.
With work cooling down a wee bit, I've managed to find sometime to get a full update out the door.

It's been a big week in the NRL this week with the billion dollar TV deal being locked away with Channel 9 and Fox for another five years, Daley given the monstrous task taking over as the new NSW coach, Dragon Ben Horny announcing his retirement, Bluey quitting as coach after his first season of failure at the Warriors & of course, more finger pointing at the NRL referees after more controversial decisions.

Being a Tigers fan, obviously it was hard to stomach another dreadful run of referee decisions in the Dogs v Tigers clash last Friday, but the Tigers did have opportunities to put that game to bed at the same time so whats done is done.
The race for the top 8 is as tight as ever now with 5 teams left to decide the last 2 spots, and the race still on for the Top 4.

Unfortunately I'm predicting the Tigers to fall out of the 8 without their inspirational leader Farah (broken hand) with losses to both the Roosters & Storm to come.
I think the Broncos will hang onto 7th on points difference while the Raiders will steal 8th position on the last week.

FINAL JOKER ROUND!

A reminder for everyone...we have the very last Joker Round coming up with your final opportunity to double your points for the season. It will be such an crucial week for so many tipsters!

Don't forget to tip, folks!

Also if anyone is keen on joining my EPL tipping competition, head over to this [LINK] to enter (must be logged into Footy Tips for link to work). Last years comp was exciting & no doubt this season will be much the same! The 1st week is gone but it's never too late! This EPL tipping comp will also include Joker Rounds!

In our tipping competition, sava4 and The Neighbour (both 134) are still going at it like hammers and tongs at the top of the Tipping CHampionship table. After weeks of leading the competition, The Neighbour has been pulled back by sava4 and both are tied with a big week of tipping to come this weekend. Can either tipster gain an advantage during this all important upcoming Joker round?
Not far behind them are Vee8Head (131) who remains in 3rd, followed closely by Feet Little (130) in 4th. Both tipsters will also be banking on a big Joker round to catch the leaders.
Rounding off the top 10 are ootz (129), Kiwi_Misty (128), BEARlythere (128), Sincas (127), Evra69 (126) & Wilshere Wonderland (126)

BULLDOGS WIN CONTROVERSIAL GOLDEN POINT THRILLER

"ARE YOU F**KEN KIDDING ME, REF???"

A Krisnan Inu field goal with less than a minute remaining in extra-time handed Canterbury a controversial 23-22 victory over Wests Tigers at ANZ stadium on Friday night.

Inu calmly slotted the point from around 30 metres out as the Bulldogs tightened their grip on the minor premiership with their 12th consecutive win.

But the match, played in front of 29,194 fans, was marred by a video refereeing decision by Sean Hampstead, who awarded a 74th-minute try to Bulldogs winger Jonathan Wright.

The lanky flyer dived over in the left corner after Frank Pritchard ran behind Josh Morris who appeared to have impeded Tigers centre Blake Ayshford.
Tigers captain Robbie Farah exploded after the decision was made.

"Since the day rugby league was created you cannot run behind a player ... it's a shepherd," Farah told the referees.
"Nope...no Shepherd there...that's a try..."
The Tigers did a great job to stay in the contest with prop Aaron Woods' converted try in the 78th minute locking the scores at 22-22.

Canterbury went into the half-time break with a 12-6 lead after two brilliant long-range tries to Aiden Tolman and Josh Reynolds.

The Tigers pegged a try back just before the break through winger Marika Koroibete, before a sensational opening to the second half resulted in the Fijian flyer scoring his second try on 45 minutes.

Soon after, Reynolds put Inu through a hole down the right edge before the centre linked with Ben Barba who scored on 55 minutes with Inu converting to make it 18-10.

The Tigers had raid after raid repelled by the Bulldogs before Blake Ayshford produced a nice inside ball to send Marshall over for a converted try to make it 18-16 but they lost momentum when Tim Moltzen dropped the re-start.

Canterbury: 23 (A Tolman, J Reynolds, B Barba, J Wright tries; K Inu 3/4 cons, field goal)
Wests Tigers: 22 (M Koroibete 2, B Marshall, A Woods; B Marshall 3/4 cons)
